My Soldier

by Miakoda   Apr 11, 2008

As the sun sets,
And the moon rises,
I'm reminded of all my regrets.
I am missing you,
More than the sun,
More than the moon.
I keep on hoping to see you soon.
All I remember is not saying goodbye,
But trust me, I did try.
Off you went to the fires of war.
Freedom and country is what youre fighting for.
Risking your life for those you dont know.
When you come back youll have a heros glow.
Seven months is the longest of times.
But every minute I think if you,
As I write my rhymes,
As I sit alone,
While I wait for you to come back home.

    "As the sun sets,

Those 3 lines in the beginning are very powerful. Some may not know it but it sets a tone through out the poem. You see I really feel hit hard by those lines. But back to the poem. It was very good and very fluid.
