Perfectly Flawed

by RB   Apr 11, 2008

Over and over again, you build me up to ensure I'm on steady ground,
Only to watch me self destruct, and tear my pitiful self back down,
And still you never give up despite the countless times I've turned away,
In fact your determination leaves me speechless with nothing to say.

I stumbled into your arms unexpectedly; even then you didn't let me fall,
Held me in the highest of highest esteems, said I was worth it all.
Patiently brought warmth into my soul, as my frozen heart thawed.
Taught me to believe true love is never perfect; only perfectly flawed.

As it stands: unconditional love you've always been inclined to give,
So darling, please take it and teach me how to love the life I live.
I'm vulnerable and exposed; still must say I've never felt so free,
It just took some extra time, for me to see what we could be.

We. We are. We will always be...

[Perfectly flawed].

Loved it, very powerful emotion and great word choice. The flow was excellent and I loved the repitition of your title in the poem, added just the right amount to it. 5/5
