My Life - My Orchid Lady

by Orchid Man   Apr 12, 2008

There was calmness in the air on the day I set out to meet you
In my mind I held this vision of a woman who in my life had no equal.......
soft of skin and blessed with looks no artist could ever hope to emulate
Orchid lady, you have lived within my heart from the first day I met you.

You have always teased me by saying you are just an ordinary woman
But, you and I know; no ordinary woman was ever blessed with your looks
No ordinary woman would give of herself to me in the loving way you do
Always giving your best; seeking no reward other than to show your undying love.

As I trudge along this long winding road seeking to catch a glimpse of you.......
I eagerly scan the far distance in the hope I see your smiling face calling me to you
If I could talk to you right now, loving words I have always meant to speak to you.......
would come straight from my heart and my genuine tears be many and for you only.

Sweetheart, this road is so windy with much steepness to cover, but I need to see you
Were the miles a thousand times longer I would find strength and love to walk its distance
For I know as I reach my destination over that final bridge, you will be waiting for me
Arms held wide open, your face with its green eyes; beaming with that beautiful smile.

As if by chance a single stemmed orchid catches my eye and again I am reminded of you
Its colours are so vibrant and the pinkish-red of its centre reminds me of the fullness of your lips
Though my surroundings portray the beauty of Nature, nothing compares to my orchid lady
Joy on joy, I see you standing beside the wooden bridge and my excitement simply grows.

Then a thought hits me - the fortune teller said I would walk a road and cross bridges
On completion I would find my destiny - now everything has come true for you are my destiny
My darling, I am almost with you and my pace quickens - my excitement continues to grow
Orchid lady I love you and will never be parted from you again, for you are my very life.
