Abuse

A couple of drinks
and a rush of blood
suddenly she's falling
where she once stood

Reader, look, right now
Do you see it in her eyes?
Do you see how every night
In bed she lays and cries?

If you look in her eyes
you'd see years of pain
a feeling of loss
and empty gains

A need for protection
from a man with a fist
a need for a woman
with a mother's loving kiss

Fault and blame
hide within her
needs to take care of herself
so she doesn't hurt

She falls again
and feels alone
what she's learning now
my words are home

And home is where the heart is
If she's hurt, she knows where to run
I'm always here for her
If ever the clouds hide the sun

I know she's strong,
Reader, you see it too
but we all need somebody
I hope she knows that's true..

"Do you feel like a man when you push her around??"
