The Raven's Grin

by LitxUpxWithxLife   Apr 13, 2008

The sneer on its face was the darkest black.
It's wicked feet perched it upon the tomb's back.
It's crow was filled with the anger and pain of the dead.
His eyes filled with the knowledge I dread.
He knew the life I had taken long ago.
I had stilled the breath in my darkest foe.
The sneer said what I thought in my mind.
I followed him forth leaving this world behind.
Into Hell I walked with him as my guide.
I held my head in a shame none could hide.
I couldn't face him when I stilled his heart beat.
Shooting him from afar too no skill or feat.
Cowardice had filled my mind.
The anger I felt left me blind.
The Raven left with doubt and fear.
Now I scream loud, but none can hear.

Wow. This one impressed me. Every line rhymed.. monorhyme? I think that's what it's called. But, wow. Impressive =) 5/5 Nice work!

I really like this. Your dark poems are a lot more different then others I've read they really don't have a poetic side like yours do. For me in this one the flow was a bit shaky but it was still a really good poem.

Creepy in a good way. Makes you think what you would do if you killed someone or something.

It's wicked feet perched it upon the tomb's back.
It's crow was filled with the anger and pain of the dead.

shouldn't the IT'S be ITS instead
srry kinda of a perfectist when it comes to
    that stuff.

I couldn't face him when I stilled his heart beat.
Shooting him from afar too no skill or feat.
    Cowardice had filled my mind.
The anger I felt left me blind.

I absoultey love the wording right here^

You held my attention from the beginning to the end of this amazing piece with so fantastically vivid images that you portrayed within every line. I like the whole atmosphere of this piece- so hauntingly dark and intense yet overwhelmingly captivating. I like your choice of words in the whole poem, too along with excellent rhymes and flow. I think that you really have the way with words and your talent simply shines through your dark poetry.
    Greatly done!
