Sunset

by StandStill   Apr 15, 2008

A pink sunset blooms
igniting this world
changes occur as easily
as eyelashes are curled

little black smudges
around her eyes
little girl falters
watches the day die

tongues of fire
painting the wall
remind her of hell
to where she must fall

fire englufs her
so pure, so clean
and into darkness she plunges
secrets go unseen

calling out for forgiveness
as she's dying inside
nobody's listening to her
and with the day, she died
