Dad

by Daniel Rutter   Apr 15, 2008

You sent me away,
You chose her over me,
I want you back,
I need you back.

I'm becoming a man,
A broken man,
And I need a man,
Who can walk me through it.

You left me all alone,
But I forgive you,
I'd do anything to have you back,
I want you to be proud of me.

I could have been a husband,
If I had you here,
I could have been a dad myself,
If it wasn't for the fear.

That if I ever abandoned my child,
Would it ever forgive me?
I forgive you dad,
Don't you see?

Nobody else matters,
No matter which way it looks,
You're my dad, the only one I've had,
The only dad I ever want.

Come back to me,
Dad.

You have poetical expressed the agony of the children in the western world and their yearning for the parental love.
