8 years too long?

Weve been best friends for years and years,
But lately things have changed,
Youve been a jerk,
Youve made me hurt,
And I cant help thinking we should rearrange.

Ive tried to tell you you need to change,
You wouldnt listen, you seem derranged.
You told me you would try to stop,
But you didnt meen it,
You just wanted me to drop it.

Now that we see that we cant get along,
maybe these 8 years was too long.
So now im telling you,
Its time we split,
But dont say its my fault,
