Insignificant Dreams of Truth

by Steph Burgess   Apr 17, 2008

There are many thoughts
All running through my head
Confusing my ever so simple mind
With things that are said and spread

Lies that cut deep
Feelings that are hurt and bruised
With the limit of one
To be left alone and solely accused

Fairness gets left at the door
And anger overrides the truth
Another outraged person
Begging for the freedom of youth

To be understood
Is one of the rarest things to occur,
To merely grasp the facts
Is something much preferred

Listen to the voices
Pleading for help and relief
Listen to the people
Wishing they didn’t feel this grief
Listen to the listeners
Now in complete and utter disbelief

There is no point in saying
You know exactly what I mean
This possibly is just another
Hopeless and insignificant dream
