Fading

Truth is written on my arms for only me to read
The blade is my new friend giving everything I need
Giving comfort and giving hope to the blackened heart that fades
But still giving truth from the poison that you gave
Blood is not my weakness and love is not my friend
My heart is still so broken, I have no reason to pretend
I don't pretend to want you, it's easily read upon my face
I don't pretend to need you, when your heart is locked within its case
My eyes don't hide my fear, you can see that I'm afraid
You can see what I have written from the incisions that I've made
My heart needs you to love me and yet my heart's now so cold
my body yearns to feel you, and still I'm never your's to hold
The look within your tainted eyes shows what I mean to you
A love that used to know you, day by day fades too
