Star-Fire

by Vincent Thornsberry   Apr 17, 2008

You are my star.
I'd go however far,
To protect your route.
The one I care about.

I'll defend against harm,
And set off the loudest alarm.
Just to protect the light,
That for me shines so bright.

I care more than you know,
I'd take arrows from many bows.
Just as long as I got to see,
The smile you save just for me.

I'm sure this one is true,
Because I'm feeling something new.
My heart has reached a new level,
I'm in a constant state of revel.

I believe this one will last,
Time goes slow, yet so fast.
I'm on fire, yet on ice,
There is no other that would suffice.

Whenever you've smiled,
It drives me wild.
From you I don't need to hide,
Everything I've kept inside.

When I look into you eyes,
I can see there are no lies.
