I'm Learning To Live Without You Now

by Bugg   Apr 17, 2008

I was me and you were you
And together we were too good to be true.
You left me here to weep and cry.
I've done it every day since you died.

I'm learning to live without you now.
But it's really hard and I don't quite know how.
You were my one true love, my perfect soul mate.
By chance we met, I believed it was fate.

I loved you with all of my heart and mind.
No greater love would you ever find.
But you're gone and I'm alone and scared.
Do you remember when you said you'd always be there?

I still miss you each and every day
And I still miss you in every single way
You said you'd love me til the end of time
But I guess for you it was the end of the line

I can't seem to be happy without you
I don't like to do the things I used to.
Everywhere I go I see your face.
And I can't seem to keep up with life's fast pace.

Sometimes you visit me in my sleep
One more night with you is another memory to keep.
And when I reach out to you, you disappear
Then I wake up and realize you never were there.

Now your face is but a memory, your laugh is just an echo
I barely remember your voice and my spirits are low
I think I forgot how to laugh and smile
Without you my life is no longer worth my while

I can really relate to this. My friend didn't commit suicide, but he did move very far away without even telling me we were going. We'd been best friends for three years, so the hurt ran pretty deep. Obviously, since I've never had anyone close to me commit suicide, I really don't know what you went through/are going through. It was an excellent poem. 5/5

I'm really sorry, I swear I'm not a mean person, but all your poems are nothing but the same as every other want-to-be-writer.

You really need to describe more, use emphasis, use emotion; put your heart into it, basically.
I don't feel anything from these poems, and as I said, they're just like every other poem I have to force myself to read.

Open your heart and write from there.

Wow. This poem is very emotional and heartfelt. I thought you did a wonderful job writing about this person who you've lost. It almost brought me to tears -- not because it was about someone passing, as is typical, but it was the feelings you showed for this person, and how much they meant to you. It's not easy to write about losing someone who was so special to you; I know. This poem is beautiful. I loved it, 100%.

^^ In this stanza here, the third line -- "your" should be you "you're".

That is the only mistake I could find. This piece is simply amazing. Great job.
