Sunflowers
By: Karen Wilburn
In Memory of Verna Ione Wilburn
--
Sunflowers make me smile,
the ones you used to grow.
Every time I see one,
somewhere inside I know
that you always loved me
but your presence is still here.
Your illness took its time
but still you didn't fear.
I prayed to God for you
simply hoping you would stay.
But now when I see sunflowers
I know youâ??re here today.
