From a house

by HisBlueEyedAngel   Apr 19, 2008

The city lights are urging
They whispering to me still
Through the blinds their calling
They dance upon the sill.

I know the question floating
I can hear my very name
I want to give them answers
I know they are in vain.

If you could hear the silence
Of the words that they invoke
As if a being so present
Sat near my side and spoke.

The stranger of the nighttime
The reflection in the pane
I herd and couldn't answer
My fear is in the rain. You've said you have forgotten
Have you forgotten me?
Have you lost all sense of reason?
What's this philosophy?
You shame yourself in hiding lies that will unfold
If you go on hiding your story will go untold

The mirror of our minds
Does nothing to hide your face
That mask you wear is poison
It buries past mistakes
And leaves you with no answer to the knock at the door
Where have you gone fishing and what are you fishing for?

Crouching at the doorstep
Nothing goes unfed
You have spawned this hunger
Let it eat your bread
And when the night has found you without a single friend
I will weep for you then never weep again.
Where are we here with nothing
Gained nor fought nor soled
The battle field is empty
Red are the ground and faces
Disgrace fallen in various places
The sideline gawking and bleating
This is the strangest meeting of the end.

I came in silence and was answered
With anger and violence
Now this unsung prayer
A hope of common ground
All is down to this

I see you across the Smokey haze
The blues and reds and grays
Those play around across the ground
And keep you from me in darkness
Unclear insularity
I forgive you now stop gawking
Stop this ship you've been rocking
And leave me in my peace.
