Midnight Angels Come At Sunrise

by brie kelly wise   Apr 20, 2008

I first saw you and I smiled
Because no one knows the road by the first mile
And thirteen is still a child
When you're living life in complete exile

Trouble at hand by day one
I'm sorry that no one mentioned the beauty of the sun
And now fourteen is still about fun
Reality is at my fingertips, about ready to come

Years go by too fast
No more time to write about my forgetful past
So now fifteen won't last
That old shadow is following me, like the one I cast

I'm leaving home now
I'll try to run as fast as possible, I promise I won't make a sound
Twenty and I'm feeling around
I grip onto what I used to have and realize I'm still on the ground
