Alone at night

by Evee Taylor   Apr 20, 2008

The woman tries to sleep but the house starts to creak,
Like the man on a Friday night, cracking knuckles for a fight.
The groans and thumps recorded throughout the day,
Now the house when all is quiet decides to play.

The children sleep restless and toss off their covers,
The fathers are out leaving the mothers.
She wraps the duvet tighter and heart does pound,
While the house replays ever daytime sound.
