Hope in an Hourglass

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Apr 21, 2008

Caressing the warm beauty of hope
I walk along the shores of reason
and dip my toes into its warm reassurance

hope inside an hourglass

This life isn't going to get any better
if all I do is pretend I've gone for a swim
but how can you remember something you never knew?

hope inside an hourglass

I guess that sanity isn't meant for me
but can't I at least think of you without crying?
hope never returns by affection

hope inside an hourglass

so for now, I'm going to sit by this lake
this symbol of cool reason
and I'm going to wait

because hope is nothing when put inside an hourglass
