Twisting Innervisions Of The Soul

by Soulful Ensemble   Apr 22, 2008

Twisting innervisions of the soul caress
The empty thoughts of lifelessness,
While worthlessly sitting in the dunes of time
And feeling sunken down by stress.

The fear of a thousand nails that scratch
And fifty-seven hours unmatched
Or working hard and never stopping
Just to light a fire on a match.

Twenty days do gently worship fallen hair
As it remains untainted by time and care.
Enjoy the sight of rain that wont be here tomorrow
And the smell of lively roses you will never borrow.

"What comes always decides to go"
Says Gemini's shadow on a flag pole.
"Take care of what you got, stay low"
"Or you'll be noticed by Death's ghostly mole"
"That creeps around in holes where bells don't toll."

Spikes and arrows fly the sky,
So don't come around and wonder why?
You've come to misery by staynig high
When the fangs of falcons ripped through the sty.

July comes around with dark clouds
Slowly winding through the times to let
The busy sunny fields of hay quiet down
That even Juliet feels desolate.

Desolation hits her on the face
Caressing her cheeks with tears;
They tumble silent, down with haste
Giving her the bitter taste of fear.

The parasites that crawl are on parade
Running fast, waving at the next herd.
And the cows come home just to aid
The senseless feeding of their cruel words.

The lions that cut at the knees
Wait patiently for another beast
To knock down and tease
And then kill to have a feast.

Sitting and waiting, watching the sun explode
My eyes are beating red and blowing horns,
And no matter what I do, I can't find the road
That takes me home so I can be born.

Its easy to wait once three hours pass
Any added time is just a dusty wind
Blowing through my face to blast
Any sense of time I could rescind.
