Daddy couldn't make it home in time
So she warmed supper up this night
Snow is falling, waters boiling
But it wasn't alright
Mommy came home
And the sauce didn't taste right
She didn't clean the dishes because she broke a glass
Picking up the tiny shards
Her hands were red, it was the christmas glass
Only for days with smiles but it caused so many tears
The words started flying, she didn't have time to cover her ears
She should've known better
She should've been smarter
But in the rush, she was scared
She tried to make it perfect
But she'll never feel worth it
With Mommy's fist up against her cheek
There's no hope in the sky today
A failure's all she'll ever be
