Tainted Humanity.

by Daphne Darling   May 26, 2004

As I walk along, I notice all that is around me,
In the darkness I see light, in the light darkness shines,
Why is it that the only pure things can’t talk, not yet,
As I walk, I see hunger, I see poverty, I see nothing but hate,
When a pure soul walks in front of me, I sigh,
For I know that soon this world will lose the precious gift,
Why is it that we taint every thing that comes within reach?
Why is it that our words are as tainted as muddy water?
This world we live on is tainted at its very heart and soul,
No you do not need the things you say, that is just want,
Talk as you might you know the truth is that you hate it all,
Messages sent in a second and all that’s on them is more insults,
Abuse your power as you might, but remember it’ll come back,
Remember that you are not immortal, but will die one day,
Laugh at me now, but when you die of your own greed,
I will laugh over your corpse, as it rots sitting on bare ground,
Spend your time thinking of yourself, and all you’ll have is you,
Spend your time thinking of others, and the world will come to your door,
Actions speak louder than words? Yes at times they do, not always,
But I guess it is all just what human nature is truly like,
Don’t try to change the mind of a man, or try to speak sense to him,
He will just ignore you like you are the dirt he walks along,
For every step we take forward, we have taken four back in other places,
Why not walk at the same pace for all things that we do?
Because we can not, we would slow down evolution, am I not right?
Our blood is tainted by greed, anger, hate, lust, gluttony, and many other things,
Why not just kill us all now? Why make us suffer with all the pain?
Eventually it will kill us all off and none shall be left to tell the tale,
But hey who cares? We are just humans right? We don’t matter much.
