Reflections

by Orchid Man   Apr 24, 2008

For countless months I have written of your gentleness and your uniqueness
Thousands of words have left my heart; making their way across bridges to you
Yet one thing haunts me, not one of those loving words has given justice to your beauty
Not one of those words has stirred the rose petals that my heart lays to welcome you home.

All manner of beauty adorns our lives; beauty lifts her head in all manner of guises, but.......
my Orchid Lady your beauty outshines them all and pales other beauty like a dying candle flame
Fortunes fit into life in many ways 'though I tell you, when you came to me I received a gift unequalled
The joy; love and devotion you have unselfishly shared with me stand out proudly, free from criticism.

When I was penniless you took me by my hand; looked at me through your beautiful green eyes.......
then with a loving embrace gave me your word of support through whatever trials we had to face
Never seeking reward, you have given me more love and understanding than I can ever hope to repay you
My eyes fill with tears when I remember every hardship you endured without one single word of complaint.

People from all walks of life drag their feet through busy streets as though walking took too much effort
They seem to forget life lives within them giving freedom of movement and hope to face a brand new day
Sweetheart, with you beside me I hear birds sing their beautiful songs and watch Nature's best finery
Then. I turn to you with the knowledge I am blessed with a richness that humbles me -
Orchid Lady, you are my life.
