Null Days of Rain

by Indian Comma Bean   Apr 25, 2008

Thursday.

It rained today.
I could smell it.
Something in the air,
When the wind swept in that draft.

I could feel the clouds release it.
They carry that burden far you know.
Travel from the oceans and lakes,
Sometimes across the mountains.

Sunday.

It was quiet today.
I could hear it.
So empty and lonely,
Almost had a sound to it.

I could see what wasn't there.
As if I was walking like the past.
Seeing the darkness; The gloom...
It rained again that day.

Tuesday.

I was alone.
The sadness seemed to linger.
The trees whispered too,
Sheltering rustled critters.

I listened to the rain drizzle.
Sitting in the dark; Confused.
Staring into empty dreams,
With null, vacant, eyes.
