Screaming With Empty Lungs (writers block)

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Apr 25, 2008

Pencil is not writing
But what can you do
I can't fake it hard enough
My sad eyes don't fool you

So just curl up in my bed
Listen to another sad song
Write another sad poem
Both about how I don't belong

Same old poem
Repeating same old line
Here it comes again
"She will not be mine"

Trying to write a poem
But I can't find the words
Like screaming empty lungs out
In this numb space you can't be heard

Screaming that I can't fake it
My eyes used to seem so glad
Now painted on emotions are washing away
And now you can see, and thats bad

Leaving one last message
Of a poem written to you
Little stanza in a poem
Not much left to do

Scream: till you
Cry: till you
Suffocate: then you
Die

I can tell when you're numb when you write a poem. idk how. but i can't feel it as much when you write a poem when you're this way...like, it's good, but it's more....closed. or maybe i'm just being stupid. i don't know.

    Like screaming empty lungs out

^^ this is the one part that made me tear up...for reasons that are obvious.

    Scream: till you
    Cry: till you
    Suffocate: then you
    Die

^^ last stanza, it made me feel sick...i don't know why. but it did.

    great job jesse..
