Missing Heart

by Just Lucy   Apr 25, 2008

Amidst the distant smiling lips,
Hides a secret that the wind could kiss,
The roar of the ocean stumbling on sand,
The tale of true love, hand in hand.

Through her ripped disguise you see a heart,
Through the fractures you see the blood,
Through the tattered eyes you see the hurt,
But she still stands to show her strength.

She knows the pain noone wants to know,
She feels the ache, as she slips steadily away,
Wrapped in a coma she wishes she could stay,
But never will she speak, silence is her weapon.

Arming herself with words full of hurt,
She stumbles out, strong, to fight her war,
Standing in-front of what looked like death,
She screams at the mirror, shattered image of her.

Beneath the torn and tattered clothes,
Beneath the ribs, sticking through the skin,
Beneath the black eyes, split lips and tears,
Is a girl just trying to figure out 'why?'

Again beautifully tragic. You write so well, expressing so much in so little words, each flowing so well from the last.
