Jane's addiction

by StandStill   Apr 25, 2008

Jane's standing at the mirror
looking at what she sees
crystaline tears are running
shaking hands and knocking knees

Her hand slaps the mirror
and hates what she just saw
a tired broken girl
who has to be strong for all

Mascara smudges under eyes
so dead, so blank, so dull
her mind is quickly numbing out
as into reality she's pulled

Grabs the bathroom scissors
one last ditch attempt
you see, Jane's addiction is worse
than the nightmares you have dreamt

Pandora's box is open
and reality rushes in
a little slice of pain
as she sins again

Broken angels fly away
as she slides to the bathroom's ground
she can't breathe, can't cry
so surely she will drown

Cold are the tiles
so dark and grey
she rests her head against the wall
wishing this would go away

Moments slide by
as do little drops of pain
funny how insanity
is the only thing that keeps her sane

Nobody is listening
to Jane's broken cries
and nobody is looking
into Jane's pleading eyes

But once again it's time to go
Jane has a life to live
Jane picks herself up off the floor
taking the hand that nobody will give

Plasters on her plastic smile
wipes the tears away
nobody's going to save Jane from her addiction
so she faces another day

WOW! This is simply an amazing piece of writing. Each line and each stanza is filled with so much emotions and it's so really sad. The descriptiveness just adds lustre to the sadness! 10/5 from me!
