We used to have term in the Navy called Channel fever which was used when we were coming off a ten month deployment and finally nearing the pier where our familes waited. It was hard bearing those last few miles where the ship usually crawled along. It was the slowest longest part of our journey but worth the wait when we would hear the cheers raise up from the piers when our friends and families spotted us on the horizon. Their voices would carry to sea for miles. It sure is good to come home. Ok - lost in thought here, I liked your short and wonderful piece. enjoyed your cabin fever.
