I Would Keep My Promise

by brie kelly wise   Apr 26, 2008

If I could back home one last time I would
I would make eyes with my first kiss if I could
I would get out of suburbia and back into dirt roads
I would get out of these hills and find my way back home

I would slide down gravel roads in the passenger seat
I would flaunt around in tank tops, embracing the summer heat
I would dance with you to our favorite song down third street
I would hold on to you forever and just slip to the beat

I would crawl back into your backseat and this time never let go
I would watch you sing, baby I would go to every show
I would sip your drink while I wasted every second in your arms
I would do it all over again and not make it as hard

I would sit with you in your bed and talk about forever
I would tangle my legs in yours and pray we'd stay together
I would let you trace a heart in my back while you look at me
I would actually keep my promise and never leave
