Tears

by Mallary   Apr 26, 2008

Her face swollen.
"you look tired". the usual comment.
sunken eyes, red cheeks.
not enough sleep, too many tears.
nobody knows nor would they understand.
she just says she is tired or stressed
and they stop the questioning.
noone searches, nobody looks.
the true meaning of her pain is hidden
salty tears taste bitter to the tounge
she wonders, "who can i call?"
with two vibrating buzzes the phone is turned off, nobody.
alone, yet surrounded by fat, wet tears suffocating her petite face.
her silent cries sing her a lullaby and put her at ease, to sleep.
she awakes, another day.
