What If It Doesn't Change a Thing?

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Apr 26, 2008

What if she hurt me?
Hurt me like the rest?
Broke this glass heart into pieces
Put it back into my chest

What happens if she hurt me?
She said that won't be done
Pull my strings and hold my hand
Are you having fun?

Cause what you say DOES matter
And you're so beyond right
I'm just like every other stupid guy
That left before you said goodnight

Your last word, "congratulations"
30 minutes staring at the screen
Maybe I'm just over reacting
Suppressing another scream

Your words hit hardest
Full-speed, colliding train
Don't worry I can hide it
Tears don't fall in numb rain

What if you hurt me?
What if I hurt you too?
What if it doesn't change a too-true thing?
This heart still belongs to you

But THESE words don't matter
Cause if it doesn't change a thing
Then your still not mine
And those numb words still sting

I still don't want to leave
Until you want me too
My dear, these shards across the floor
Broken heart still belongs to you

"Your tears don't fall
They crash around me
Her conscience calls the guilty to come home
Your tears don't fall
They crash around me
Her conscience calls the guilty to come home"
~Bullet For My Valentine - "Tears Don't Fall"
