Destiny's Last Goodbye

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Apr 28, 2008

The hand of Destiny
tries to caress the face of Life
but Life pulls away
and watches her stillborn child, Hope
lay softly in her arms

Destiny allows one tear to slip
gently down his face
and watches Life coo
to the still form in her arms.
For her, her child would never die

Life stood up, and laid her fallen child
delicately into the crib
and tucks her in with the blanket
that Protection herself had made
and begins to sing her a lullaby

Destiny closes his eyes
and puts a hand on Life's shoulder
only to be once again shrugged away
slowly, he turns around
and leaves the house.
