Time is short when the
sands run low and you do not
know which side to show.

Do you smile a cynical smile
to show your malicious mind?
Or do you cry with eyes so tired
no one can help but be kind.

Do you laugh and give a nod
to gain a friends trust? Or do
you lie and stab their backs
because your own needs are
must.

Do you scream a scream so
loud in your stolen solitude?
Or do you stand with your
mouth sewed shut and give
an attitude.

Do you tremble in the face
of fear and cower in its wake?
Or do you walk towards it
steadily on with a proud, but
grim facade.
