Falsity

by NightPersonality   Apr 29, 2008

The pills have multiplied in disgusting numbers,
My thoughts remain the same as before.
The words coming out of my mouth are traitorous,
They conceal my pain, and fill my emptiness.

Pills cannot bring back the past,
My heart is yearning for it.
The tears and agony are quieter,
But my heart is still on the floor.
They see it, passing by,
Making no move to pick it up.

Pills cannot give you the gift of joy,
Falsity is obvious, and the tears are still there.
Loved ones' compliments tear my soul apart,
Knowing they don't know why I lock myself away.

Pills are just chemicals, that promise you a better life,
But they're all I have, so I'll believe in falsity.

What I like about your poems is that you find a theme, an angle, an idea and explore it. Sometimes they are subtle and quirky but far better than targetng the common road. A teacher of mine would say "off on a tangent". Far better than the norm.
