Untitled

So high above the overpass
So seldom overlooked
Swing ghosts of exhaust and exhaustion
Asleep at the wheel
the fog stole your headlights
and turned your taillights into a symphony
There's static falling onto your ears
blaring from the speakers
that never really said much

After the wreck
after the great panic
and the harsh disinfectant
I picked myself up and took a good look around
Took in all that they always said I'd miss
Then I closed my eyes spread-eagled on the freeway And I swear I was infinite
I swear I was infinite
I'm infinite and spread-eagled
Oh I'm infinite and spread-eagled

So you gave me 4 hours to reinvent myself
To get my story straight
Exaggerated my eyes
we're all lost in a sea of cheekbones
and textbook faerietales
There's faerie talesh radiating from my fingertips

And after the wreck
after the great terror
and the giant spotlight of fear I picked myself up
Kept my eyes closed with nuts and bolts from the blue So with my vision censored I'll swear that I'm infinite I'll swear that I'm infinite
I'm spread-eagled and infinite
I'm spread-eagled and infinite

No I won't write you a goddamn bridge
if you're just going to burn it down
But I will promise you that I am infinite
I'm spread-eagled and infinite
Oh, I'm spread-eagled and infinite.
