Down the Road

I've been on this road
For what seems like forever
My heart say I can make it
My mind says I will never

I'm starting to stumble
I'm starting to fall
I cannot walk
I'm forced to crawl

Rocks scrape my plams
I feel them start to bleed
Can no one see my suffering?
Can no one see my need?

If I am to die here,
If my mind does explode
Will anyone come find me?
Perhaps I'm too far down this road

I hear someone approaching
Have they heard my cry?
Will they stop to help me,
Or just continue by?

The shoes pass right by me
Again I am alone,
The road is growing darker now
I'm trapped in the unknown.
