I Remember...

by fazidah   Apr 30, 2008

I remember when the rain was falling continuously
And our days were all wet, dull and gloomy
You told me, "I don't need a sun, darling. Your smile is enough,"
And now when my day is grey and gloomy, won't you smile for me?

I remember the day when I fell down the stairs
My wrist broken, a bit of bruises and nose bleeding
You wiped my tears away and said, "Be strong and the pain will gone,"
Now that I see your tears, I can't wipe them away

I remember the day when you left to work
That night, I was left alone in the dark house all by myself
Then I found your note, "I'll be back very soon, three days or less, but never more,"
And now I'm tracing your heavy steps from behind, I could never let you go again

I remember a birthday present that you left me on the kitchen table
And a small card fell on the floor just before I opened it
It said, "Live on, darling. Even if life's harsh and I can't be by your side, please live on,"
I will, darling. Here in your heart I'll live forever.

I remember the day when we moved out from our first apartment
I cried, for that house held a lot of our memories together
Then you hugged me and said, "We lose the house, but the memories will remain,"
Now you're trapped in that house. Why can't you move out?

In this place where time and memories are untied
I will remember you eternally
In your dreams, I'll wipe your tears and smile for you
So, breathe and keep on walking
No matter how long you will take, I'll wait for you
I promise I won't give in
So live on, darling. Even when I'm not around, please live on...
