A Jungle

by Elyse   Apr 30, 2008

Standing still
like a dream,
I feel
I need
to continue my journey
in some other direction.

I loose sight of where
I am in the midst
of the many paths.
Some traveled,
some not...

A giant web of
interchanging paths...
The trees always growing,
the paths always
changing...

I loose sight of the
many paths I travel.
Never taking another glance
until it seems
too late
to remember where
I started.

Too late
to remember who
came with me,
who I've left behind.

Moment seem long,
Pathways never-ending...
Wondering if you'll ever
be found...
Wondering if you want
to be caught.

I loose sight of how
the road used to look,
I loose sight of who
it took.

In the blink of an eye
you're surrounded
no daylight...
Wondering how you'll
get out...
Wondering where you'll
end up.

Before you know it,
you're left standing
alone
with just one thought
What happened?
