Mother Dearest

by NightPersonality   Apr 30, 2008

She believed in her drunken haze,
Shaking a drink in her hand.
Her happiness a passing phase,
Her muscles to weak to stand.

The past has faded, with her mind,
The old blue house is peeling fast;
Her shiny gray eyes shrouded blind,
Her misery soon surpassed.

A kiss upon my cheek,
A hug squeezed my heart,
Her lovely love was so unique,
But our bonds have grown apart.

For you will never know, my dear,
That night that I came home in tears.
And you will never hear, my love,
The screaming from my room above.
For you will not be there nor here,
You will always disappear;
My darling, mother dearest.
