What it was

Since we were kids
it's been me and you
we grew up together
and that's why we knew

we're perfect together
i love you so much
we wrestled in grade three
now i still feel your touch

when i had chickenpox
and had to stay in bed
when all i needed was a cuddle
you laughed at me instead

when you used to tickle me
the sand pit at school
sleepovers at each others houses
i thought you were so cool

then we got older
and you went to high school
we had to be "just mates"
that was the rule

we went to some parties
and drank way too much
vodka shots and secrets
i still felt your touch

we went on road trips
from late night fishing missions
to festivals and clubs
without all the conditions

then it was me and you baby
here we are together
just like the old days
now it's all of us forever
