My Daughter

by Sharon Reeves   Apr 30, 2008

When I first saw you
my heart was filled with love
you looked so cute and adorable
a gift from up above

I held you close to me
didnt want to let you go
I couldnt put you down for a moment
you were mine and I loved you so

An independant little madam you are
I have watched you become older
with every day that passes by
youve become a little bolder

You're not a typical girly girl
dont play with dolls and stuff
you'd rather be out with the lads
playing football and acting tough

You got into the football team
that meant the world to you
then you became the captain
and showed them what to do

Im so glad that you were given to me
the pain was worth going through
your are quite unique and very special
there will never be another you

You never cease to amaze me
with the things that you can do
you mean everything to me
and I am so proud of you
