Delirious Wordplay

by Thoughtless Consideration   Apr 30, 2008

Fall asleep,
One big leap.
Too hard to keep,
expectations make me weep.

Bitterness for the day,
The words you tried to convey.
Fake smiles at hand, lies on display.
Holding on tight, watching myself fade.
Take it away, take me away!
Dying and drowning and living in a cliche.
Who would have known you'd lead me astray?
It's easy to be betrayed.
The world sits and laughs, watching me decay.

Your lies,
goodbyes.
Oh, don't try to deny.
I'm not the bad guy.
Go live in that cloudy gray sky.
I knew what you tried to imply.
I'm being honest, I really did try.
I don't think I can reply.
The world sits and laughs, watching me cry.

Too easy to stop and blend.
No point chasing after lost friends.
Hush love, no need to pretend;
Sit now, no need to defend.
This is not what I would intend.
A pain so abstract, I can't comprehend.
Why was I stupid enough to depend?
No point now, it's clearly the end.
Think a little, try to apprehend.
It's going to take some time for this to mend.

You think you're so bold,
Rebellion is getting so old.
Watch it take hold,
As the story unfolds.
Finally breaking the mold.
Shut up, just do what you're told.
Your heart is so lovely, so cold.
Look! It's happiness! Behold!

AWAKE,
A mistake.
Now my stomach aches.
I'm a fake?
You started to shake.
Who would have known, that people too can break?
All you do is take, take, take.
