Autobiography

by Everly   May 1, 2008

Smeared mascara revealing her ugly face
and the time they've wasted cannot be replaced
when things start to look up she cowers in fear
because she knows it will all drown away in tears
every night at home she just sits and cries
over break ups, over family, over drawn out good byes
her surreptitious facade is crumbling away
as her beautiful physique turns cloudy and grey
she's the only one who doesn't see her own beauty
and her supposed supportive friends have neglected their duty
of telling her she's pretty, there's nothing to dread
maybe they'll remember when she falls over dead

A sad and heartfelt poem filled with so much emotions. It's really well written and the entire poem flows so well that the reader is able to relive your feelings and memories too. Excellent work! 5/5
