Burnt Trust

by Kaitlyn Gilbertson   May 1, 2008

Charcoal black fills my mind.
Scarred on the outside, I wrestle with life.
I happily said yes, never knowing that this is where your fun began.

Planning my destruction.
You smiled the sweetest grin.
And there I stood entranced by your perfection, while you dreamt of my fall.

Flames are scorching my heart.
Top to bottom scorched until numb.
Stop the game, you have won. My ability to trust is burnt.
