Cried Herself a River

by Kathryn H   May 26, 2004

As she stood in the pouring rain
Her eyes were soaking wet
Why she said she asked herself
Is crying such a bad thing?
I said crying pain and crying tears
Will blind all of your wasted years
If anything is ever wrong
Don't forget that which you fear
So did you find your home?
Or are you still alone?
Did you paint your picture on the wall
I think it just caved in,

So on and on she wept in silence
Everything is wrong
If happiness is just so good
Why wasn't I happy all along?
I said tears will put out all the fires
Hidden in your heart
When angels burn it's a curse's turn
A curse was on fire from the start
Even if the rumors were all true I'd have forgiven you
Out she cried out on my shoulder in this cold dark empty room
We fixed all of her broken holes and rebuilt all her broken walls
And then in time she found herself
She's not alone
