Childhood Nightmares

by Grunge Angel   May 2, 2008

Locked up in a closet
At the infant age of one
Father couldn't stand the cries
That accompanied his new-born son

Deprived of attention
At the playful age of four
Mother would rather clean the house
Then play with BigBloks on the floor

Left alone at night
At the school-age of six
I would scream myself to sleep
While the darkness played it's tricks

Punished for curiosity
At the happy age of eight
Whipped on the back with a belt
By then it was too late

Destroyed by the truth
At the distraught age of ten
I wish I didn't know now
What I learned back then
