Your Telephone Call

by Orchid Man   May 3, 2008

If anyone had their heart touched through receiving a telephone call.......
sweetheart my own heart has just lived through words sculptured by you
The emotion in your voice brought a dormant surge of tears to my eyes
My thoughts searched for a way to reach out to you and hold you closely.

A soothing calmness danced upon me as I listened to the softness of your speech
Clouds gave way to blue skies as the sun awoke and brought me its warming rays
It was as though time stood still as you reached out for words of love and meaning
As I sat alone on this wooden park seat, all appeared right in this world of ours.

Listening to you I picture deep seas, the countless roads and bridges standing in our way
To overcome the many miles between us I looked to the heavens seeking inspiration
Strangely I felt you beside me yet I could not feel the softness of your slender hand
Orchid Lady, I need you and will gladly endure any test of courage to reach your side.

It's amazing how one voice can carry a magic that no other person's voice could
How even the most trivial of matters could reveal their importance to you.......
making me smile, then understand and share the same concerns you had experienced
Your voice is so clear I look around to see if you are sitting next to me!

I wonder in years ahead if I will ever think back to these moments we share right now?
Will I recall the love that carries you to me like the music of Handel's compositions of genius?
Sweetheart I know time is running short and you must return to work; parting us again
Before we say, "Goodbye" above all else - please remember I love you more than my own life.

You will always remain - my Orchid Lady
