SOUND DEFENCE

by Kevin   May 27, 2004

Loud voices in quiet places
put Darwin’s theory
into contention
their animal cackles
my mind does shackle
as they subdue a passive deck of grazers

How I wish for a gun
strike me down
but just one!
so I could pistol whip
and warning shot
until silence had returned

For quiet is a precious thing
a gift to yearn and cherish
thoughts worth thinking
and recalling
in noise do quickly perish

A different style, yet good in itself. Check out my poems if you have the chance.
