Sitting and Waiting

by H E Losey   May 3, 2008

Sitting and waiting
But waiting for what
The longer we're waiting
The more we're forgot

Sitting and waiting
Hoping love will appear
The longer we're waiting
The closer our tear

Sitting and waiting
A lifetime to share
The longer we're waiting
The more we must bear

Sitting and waiting
Our children we nurture
The longer we're waiting
The brighter their future

Sitting and waiting
Soon children are gone
The longer we're waiting
The living near done

Sitting and waiting
As time passes by
The longer we're waiting
The sooner we die

I really enjoyed the repetition in this piece and you portrayed the message that was entwined in this poem very well. 5/5

I like the poem.. but like Jenni I couldn't really see what the point of this was.. But maybe that was the whole point. But other than that it was really a nice piece.
