Can I hear you?

by RetroRavey   May 3, 2008

The blood is still calling,
a sweet song that lifts my soul.
Can I lift my voice in unison with yours
and hear the sounds that no longer clash,
voices when sounded together
sound beautiful at last?

My wrists still ache for pain,
wishing they could bleed for me again.
Can I let go of the pain for now
and just remember the times
when I almost felt like it was worth it to live?

Can I hear you?
Let the wounds bleed out the want
and stop the hurt for just a moment...
Can I hear you?
Voice pure and strong,
a sliver of salvation that always warms my soul,
a loveliness encircled by a silent reverence.
I want to hear you.

You're voice is still a longing,
a mystery that keeps me week at the knees.
Can I hear it one more time,
lifted in sweet unison,
soothing and healing the wounds,
calming the blood and stopping the pain
if only for a moment?
Can I hear it?
