Ghost of a Girl ((Nobody To See))

by StandStill   May 3, 2008

The lights are fading
setting sun
how quickly two
can become one

Just another sad poem
tears from a poet's heart
the world is so beautiful
when it is crumbling, falling apart

Ghosts come out
from under the stairs
lies become truths
and nobody's there

Nobody to be proud
not of a ghost girl
nobody to love her
she's nobody's world

She hasn't heard those three words
in more than two days
and when she closes her eyes
it doesn't go away

Suddenly, she's screaming
the world is crashing down
the subtlety of her pain
is suddenly an animal sound

When black and white
is suddenly vibrant technicolor
and clarity is surging in
still...no one's there to love her

Finally, she has wings
this poor little ghost of a girl
but nobody is around to see
when she plummets from the sky to the world

    This is beautiful...
I love how it almost tells a metaphorical story, if you know what I mean.
    The emotions shine through wonderfully.
    Great job, keep writing.
