Everyday Thing

Getting up early in the morning,
Extra time to fix my hair.
I step back and think to myself,
"Who knows, he might care."

Staring at him all through class,
Makes my heart beat so fast.
It's like this every single day,
From first period to last.

Always making up excuses,
Just to see his sweet face.
I doubt he'll ever know,
That no one could take his place.

Trying to seem so perfect,
But he makes my face turn deep red.
He makes me feel so tongue-tied,
Words start to jumble up in my head.

Whenever we finally get home from school,
I check to see if he had gotten on-line.
I read through my mails in disappointment,
Guess he just needs some more time.

Someday he just may figure out,
That in my heart, he's king.
Falling deeper in love with him,
Is just another everyday thing.
